Request for Proposals - Environmental Education

The Town is seeking proposals from environmental educators that are well established, financially sound, and able to deliver creative and innovative approaches to place-based environmental education at the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center. The selected environmental educator will lease a portion of the 9,180 sf Outdoor Center building, now under construction. The Outdoor Center is designed as a multi-use public facility that will serve as a base camp for visitors to the Glen, with a large lounge area, exhibits, a four-season café, and restrooms. The Education Wing of the building (the “lease premises” (1,835 sf +/-)) consists of three classrooms that can be configured as flexible space, a nurse station, office, and storage area and will provide designated facilities for educational programming.

The Environmental Education Provider at the Outdoor Center is expected to deliver a broad range of environmental education programming appealing to different age groups and people of diverse backgrounds. The selected Proponent organization will implement educational and interpretive programs highlighting the natural and cultural features found at Greylock Glen and the broader Mount Greylock environs.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) is available from the Community Development Department, 8 Park Street, Adams, MA  01220 on or after June 8, 2023, M-Th, between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Proposals must be received no later than 4:00 PM, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Adams Town Hall, Town Administrator’s Office, 8 Park Street, 2nd Floor, Adams, MA 01220 and marked “RFP #23-007: Environmental Education Provider at Greylock Glen Outdoor Center.” All proposals will receive consideration without regard to race, creed, color, age, sex, religion, national origin or disability.
