With a focus on outdoor recreation and forest-based tourism, the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center, along with other projects at the Glen, will help rebuild the economy locally in the Town of Adams, and regionally, in the northern Berkshires. We are not alone in this effort! With its setting and history, Greylock Glen takes pride in partnering with regional organizations who help manage our region’s ever-evolving forest resources.
These organizations protect the health of our existing forests and their critical role in reducing, mitigating, and adapting to the effects of climate change. They also maximize the abilities of these natural habitats to mitigate and reduce effects of greenhouse gases. Collective efforts help woodlands owners increase their return on investment, so their lands remain forests, rather than subdivisions or developments. Supporting forest-reliant industries like logging, wood processing, outdoor recreation, and tourism, these groups additionally bolster local economies.
Created in 2013 by the Massachusetts Legislature and legally recognized in 2018, the Woodlands Partnership brings recognition and added financial and technical resources to northwestern Massachusetts. The purpose of which:

• Supports forest conservation on private lands and use of sustainable forestry
• Improves the financial stability and sustainability of member municipalities
